David Hume; Life and Works

Abstract: This 10 page paper looks at the life and works of the eighteenth century Scottish philosopher David Hume. Hume, better known in his own time as a historian rather than a philosopher is now seen as one of the most influential thinkers of the empiricist school. His works spanned many years, including the well known 'Treatise of Human Nature'. His philosophy and its presentation in his different works is considered, as is his influence on other writers and institutions of his time. The bibliography cites 9 sources.
