Abstract: A 3 page research paper that reports on a Florida liability case. In the case of Beverly Enterprises-Florida, Inc. d/b/a/ Eastbrooke Health Care Center v. Wilbur W. Spilman, as a personal representative of the estate of Walter M. Spilman, the court award a final judgement of $719,064.12 in compensatory damages and $2 million in punitive damages to the estate of the deceased, Walter M. Spilman. Some jurors were so appalled at the treatment that Spilman received that they indicated that they would have gone as high as $10 million in punitive damages (Jury Awards). The writer describes the case and the neglect that resulted in Mr. Spilman suffering greatly prior to this death. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
