Women In The Arts

Abstract: The purpose of any political movement is to initiate change. The feminist movement is no exception. When embarking on a feminist path, a woman artist, be she a painter or writer, must consider the question, "Can the behavior of the individual influence the processes of society?" Many women artists have embarked on a personal mission to bring the political message of feminism into the world through their preferred mediums. This 5 page paper examines a few of these women artists and looks at what their personal perspective to feminism entails. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
