Knowledge and Nursing: How We Know What We Know

Abstract: A 12 page paper assessing how we know what we know, beginning with a discussion of knowledge as seen by Plato and Descartes. There are four types of knowledge that the nurse uses: empirical, ethical, aesthetic and personal. From this base, the paper discusses the points of philosophy present in the Simultaneity Parse worldview. Within this framework, the nurse draws on knowledge both held and created according to the current situation, using a much greater depth of knowledge and can be expected to gain more positive results.
