The extent to which French and British domestic, financial and war policymaking during the Nine Years' War between 1688 and 1697 influenced each country's foreign policy and ultimately shaped the international orders in Europe is both grand and far-reaching; that either country was able to draw substantial inference regarding their respective approach to foreign policy speaks to the nature of political change so prevalent in the subsequent decades.
