URBAN SOLITUDE

Abstract: This 5 page paper uses Edward Hopper's Nighthawk painting and W.H.Auden's poem, Unknown Citizen to compare and contrast the artists' opinions on urban solitude. Examples given of both artist's work. Commentaries include discussion on applications to the modern day urban dweller. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
