Abstract: A 7 page research paper that examines Stone's text The Trial of Socrates. In this book, Stone's central question is why did the city of Athens, a city famous for free speech, prosecute and execute a prominent philosopher who was guilty of no other crime then exercising his right to free speech. Stone's answer differs from traditional scholarship. The writer examines Stone's arguments and then discusses them. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
