Moral Theory: Natural Law versus Utilitarianism

Abstract: A 21 page paper that discusses two major types of moral theory. Natural law, which basically asserts that there is a universal moral law of human nature and utilitarianism, which basically promotes the premise that what is moral is what leads to the greatest benefit or happiness for the greatest number. Several subcategories of utilitarianism are explained and discussed. Major philosophers are cited. The writer then offers examples to demonstrate the similarities and differences between and among the theories. Bibliography lists 14 sources.
