Comparison of Quintilian & Burke / Philosophy Of Rhetoric

Abstract: This 12 page paper compares Quintilian's and Kenneth Burke's thoughts on the subject of rhetoric, offering some examples of how each approached persuasion and argument. Many similarities exist between the two such as their emphasis on moral and ethical acts. Quintilian's schema for teaching one how to become a perfect orator is included as are discussions regarding Burke's pentad, logologic, and consubstantiality. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
