Contrasts and Similarities In Plato and Hegel

Abstract: A 6 page argumentative essay pitting the philosophies of Plato's 'Republic' and Hegel's 'Introduction to the Philosophy of History' against each other. Three specific arguments are raised: soul/spirit, individual, and society (city/state). Two counter arguments are considered (similarities are drawn) between divine existence of soul/spirit, and that the individual soul/spirit and city/state soul/spirit are synonymous functions of the divine.
