Abstract: A 6 page research paper that examines the system of painting develop by French Neoimpressionist painter, Georges Seurat (1859-1891). Although Seurat's use of colored dots is usually referred to as 'Pointillism,' Seurat preferred the term 'divisionism.' Pointillism involves using thousands of dots of color that are of uniform size applied with calculated and painstaking control. Seurat controlled the application of these dots so precisely that the subtlest tints were brought under his control. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
